India Records 13,086 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
PaliwalwaniNew Delh : India today recorded 13,086 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,35,31,650. India's death count rose to 5,25,242 with 19 new coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours.
According to Union Health Ministry data, the active cases stand at 1,14,475, comprising 0.26 per cent of the total infections, while the recovery rate was recorded at 98.53 per cent, the ministry said.
198.09 crore doses of the coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country so far, the Co-WIN dashboard showed.
Tamil Nadu Reports 2,662 New Covid Cases
Tamil Nadu reported 2,662 Covid cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the caseload to 34,88,091 till date, the health department said today.
Total deaths rose to 38,027 after 1 Covid-related death was reported.
The last death due to Covid in the state was recorded on June 15.
The number of those who recovered from the virus grew to 34,33,299 with 1,512 people getting discharged in the last 24 hours, leaving 16,765 active infections.
Delhi Records 615 Fresh Covid Cases, 3 deaths
Delhi reported 615 fresh Covid cases, 3 deaths at a positivity rate of 3.89 per cent.
With the fresh cases and fatalities, Delhi's Covid tally has climbed to 19,38,048 and the death count reached to 26,275, the department said in a bulletin.
Mumbai Reports 659 New Covid Cases, 53% Jump In 24 Hours
Mumbai on today logged 659 Covid cases, a 53 per cent spike since yesterday, taking the tally to 1,116,132 while the death count rose by one to 19,620, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official said.
Following Covid Surge, Masks Now Mandatory In Chennai
Following a surge in Covid cases in Tamil Nadu, Greater Chennai Corporation on Tuesday made it mandatory for people in Chennai to wear face masks failing which a fine of ₹ 500 will be levied on the individual by the officials concerned.
Tamil Nadu reported 2,654 fresh cases of Covid on Monday. Of the cases reported on Monday, 1,066 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Chennai.
A total of 1,289 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the count of recoveries in Mumbai so far to 10,90,103, he said.
The city had reported 431 Covid cases and two deaths on Monday.
