As reported earlier by e4m, Jagdish Chandra, former ETV News Network and Zee Media regional cluster CEO is set to make a comeback to the world of news broadcasting with the launch of a Hindi news channel Bharat 24.
Now a slew of big appointments are underway as the channel gets set for the August 2022 launch. According to sources close to the development, Ajay Kumar is set to join as Managing Editor of the new Hindi channel. Prior to this, Kumar was associated with India TV as Managing Editor.
Also journalist Sayyed Umar is set to join as Sr Editor. Prior to this, he was associated with News India 24x7 as Senior Executive Editor. Umar has over two decades of experience in print and electronic media.
Another top appointment at Bharat 24 will be of Manoj Jagyasi who is set to join as Strategic Advisor & CBO. Jigyasi was earlier the CRO at ZMCL.A bureaucrat by profession, Chandra had taken voluntary retirement to enter the TV news industry in September 2008. In his most recent role, he was the CMD of First India News and CEO & Editor-in-Chief of First India, an English daily with three editions. Bharat 24 will be backed by a major Ahmedabad-based corporate house.
